Day 1 of 50: I’m inspired by Masguda Shamsutdinova, Tatar composer, and her “‘Dervish’ Symphonic Poem” for symphony orchestra.
Listening to “‘Dervish’ Symphonic Poem,” I imagine flying beneath an open sky without a cloud in sight. For miles around, there is only grass, feverish from the sun’s affection, perhaps the kind Rumpelstiltskin used to spin gold. I wonder if I beat my wings hard enough I might catch the lips between this world and the next.
