Day 3 of 50: I’m inspired by Malika Kishino, Japanese composer living and working in Germany, and her “Sange”* for percussion.
Listening to “Sange,” I am entranced by the polyhedric layers of sound that ignite feelings of curiosity and anticipation, fueling urges to plunge into the unknown. I am wrapped up in the many musical turns of Fate.
*“Sange,” in Japanese, is the scattering / spreading of lotus petals during Buddhist rituals that bless those who have gone on to the next world.
