Day 4 of 50: I’m inspired by Sussan Deyhim, Iranian composer, and her song, “Tender Gaze.”
Listening to “Tender Gaze,” I weave into the song tales of the Sīmurgh, the mythological bird that I first came across reading in “The Conference of the Birds” - a Persian poem written by Farīd ud-Dīn Attār. The Sīmurgh is powerful and benevolent, a reflection of deep wisdom and compassion. I merely think of this Ruler of the Birds and am in awe.
