Day 13 of 50: Today, I’m inspired by Makiko Kinoshita and her “Alice in Wonderland” opera as well as her “Alice in the Golden Afternoon” for solo piano.
Listening to Kinoshita’s enchanting music, I find myself skipping into Wonderland’s marvelous garden filled with chit-chatting alabaster lilies, giggling sweet peas, cozy violets, and of course, serenading roses that make the buttered-toast-butterflies blush. I look at down and sigh with relief: I’m wearing my favorite floral dress that I don on for special occasions. Will this disguise suffice as I shimmy among the regal and curiously beautiful?
