Day 12 of 50: I am inspired by Unsuk Chin, South Korean composer, and her “Alice in Wonderland” opera.
Listening to “Alice in Wonderland,” particularly “Scene V: A Mad Tea Party,” I feel dizzy with, well, madness! I’m spinning off into a world of dancing teacups, riddle-y Hatters, babbling Hares, and an Alice (or me!) caught unawares. A cup of tea prances towards me while the saucer skedaddles away… and sweetness spills into little wishes that steal the Dormouse away and catapults it far above the violet sky.
