Day 48 of 50: Today I am inspired by Yazz Ahmed, British-Bahraini composer, and her “Lahan Al Mansour” for seven-piece jazz band from her Women of the World Suite, “Polyhymnia.”
Listening to “Lahan Al Mansour,” I feel the undulating rhythm stir within me, traveling to my fingertips, my toes, the melody arching on my lips. The groove sloping over my shoulders and the ambience wrapping itself around my waist, gently swaying me to the music. The mood, captured.
